Ismail Gunacar (Undergrad) earns his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from UC's McMicken College of Arts and Sciences, making him the second-youngest to ever earn a UC baccalaureate degree. [UC News Story] [WCPO News Story]
Angela Galli (Undergrad) received the 2015 Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society Award for a senior chemistry major who demonstrated excellence in the major field, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and is graduating Magna cum laude with Departmental Honors.
Lauren McKenzie (Undergrad) received the 2015 Biochemistry Prize for the biochemistry major showing great promise and potential and is graduating with Departmental Honors.
Sarah Venus (Undergrad) received the 2015 McMicken College of Arts & Sciences Eleanor Hicks Award, the 2015 Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society Award for a senior chemistry major who demonstrated excellence in the major field, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and is graduating Summa cum laude with Departmental High Honors.
Amber Volmer (Undergrad) received the 2015 Henry Storch Award to the senior chemistry major with the highest grade point average in subjects outside the major area and is graduating Magna cum laude with Departmental Honors.
Mellie June Paulines (Graduate Student) was recognized with the Robert M. Koppenhoefer Research Associate Award as the outstanding second year graduate student in biochemistry.
Rob Ross (Graduate Student) was recognized with the Henry Hochstetter Prize for excellent performance as a TA.

2014 Departmental Awards to Limbach Group Members - Congrats to All!
Rob was awarded the 2014 James A. Koehler Prize for outstanding all-around contributions in research, teaching and service to the UC Department of Chemistry.
Whitney was recognized with the Henry Hochstetter Prize for excellent performance as a TA.
Karen Rahe and Mat Pflanz received Department of Chemistry Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships to study in the lab this summer.
Collin Wetzel received a Department of Chemistry Research Enhancement Fellowship for the 2014 Spring and Summer semesters.

2013 Departmental Awards to Limbach Group Members - Congrats to All!
Romel received the 2013 CGSA Graduate Student of the Year Award for outstanding all-around contributions to the Chemistry Graduate Student Association and the Department of Chemistry. That's two years in a row for the group (Rob won this award last year)!
Siwei was awarded the Stecker Fellowship for recognition of outstanding research performance.
Romel also received the Hillstrom Travel Award for an outstanding graduate student to present their research at a national or international conference. Romel used this award to attend the 2013 Ribosomes Conference in the Napa Valley of California in July 2013.
Rob wins another award! This year, he was recognized with the Cassandra McGee Service Award, which goes to a graduate student who demonstrates random acts of kindness, outstanding service to the department or overall excellence in humanitarian efforts.
Yang and Beulah were recognized with the Henry Hochstetter Prize for excellent performances as TAs.
Graduating Senior Undergraduate Kim Nguyen was recognized with multiple honors including election into Phi Beta Kappa, College Graduation with Distinction (Magna cum laude) and Departmental High Honors.
